More Family!

Today my dad's cousin, Millie, called me.  She got my letter and she's so excited that we're coming to visit. We made a few plans for while we're in Pennsylvania, and she is going to have a big family dinner the first night we arrive.  I am even more excited now to see more of our family!  My mom and dad would be so happy to hear that we'll be visiting with my dad's family.  I wish they could be with us.  Millie and Dick invited us to stay with them the three nights that we'll be in Allentown, so it looks like we'll be staying with them instead of in a hotel.  That'll be nice.  I'm so excited to see their family and also my Uncle David, Aunt Susan and their kids!  I know my dad will be smiling down on us while we're there!

More Trip Planning

John and I spent three hours planning out the itinerary for our trip.  We had to cut out a few things (NFL Hall of Fame and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame) because we just don't have enough time.  We want to make sure that we spend as much time with family and friends as we can, and also see the big things, like Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, and Devils Tower Monument.  And John decided he wants to stop at several Harley Davidson shops along the way to get T-shirts.  We found out that the Harley Davidson tour is in Kansas City - perfect!  We will be there!  Now we just need to figure out some hotels to stay in.  We made our reservation for the hotel in Yellowstone (it gets filled up fast!), so that's one down.

Preparing For Our Road Trip

John and I have decided that we are ready for a new adventure, and that we are going to drive across country to Pennsylvania and back home again (something John has always wanted to do).  I want John to see where my Dad grew up, and I want to see some of my Dad's family (who I haven't seen for YEARS!).  We expect the trip will take about three weeks.  We have many adventures planned for stops along the way (Yellowstone Park, Mt. Rushmore, Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, 4 Corners, etc.).  I am a little nervous about being in a car that long, but I'm so excited for all of the things and people (we are meeting up with family and friends along the way) that we will see.  I've decided to start a travel blog so that I can write about our adventures and post pictures for my family and friends to see while we're gone.  We aren't leaving for several months, so join us then to read about our adventures.  We would love any ideas about where we should go.
